Time for an art fair.

June is almost upon us and with it comes the Sunnyside Art Fair.  It is a local event that I look forward to every year.  This year I will be showing in the Art Fair as well as the “Invincible Summer” show at Claret, a local wine bar.  Needless to say I am excited for both shows and thankful for Sunnyside Artists for inclusion in the events.  Here is the flyer:

If you around the area please stop by to say hello!  I will be at the art fair all day drawing and painting with some works to sell.  I will also be at the opening of the “Invincible Summer” show, most likely with a glass of red wine in my hand.

On another note I was disappointed that I was not chosen to be a part of the Long Island City Artists show.  My submission “Morning Traffic on the Bridge” was not selected.  It is tough not getting in a show but that is the reality of being an artist.  I like the painting a lot and stand by it to represent what I do and who I am as an artist.  I just have keep working and I am confident that good things will come with time.

Speaking of which I just received word that my painting “501 buck” which was showing at Stray Vintage sold!  Sweet!!

  1. Awesome work Doug! Keep doing the great work you have been and entering it into as many venues as possible. Included in two events and selling a piece is all good news. The good outweighs the bad. It is a rollercoaster type of lifestyle trying to make art part of your life but you are really doing it. Congrats!
